Tasting Notes
This is a serious, powerful and hedonistic Pinot Noir from Arbois in the Jura. It's concentrated dark fruit profile engages all the senses along with complexing savoury tones of mushroom, forest floor and seed spices. The palate is dense and brooding too. Power and structure here ensures a long life for this wine. I can't wait to try a bottle in 5 and 10 years. - Chris L
The winery is situated in Mathenay village, 10km west of Arbois. Fabrice Dodane took over the 6.5 hectares vineyard in 2001. The vineyard was created by a well known lawyer, Philippe Moyne, born in Paris with Jura heritage on his father's side. Fabrice Dodane began the conversion of the vineyard to organic viticulture, with an official certification in 2008. During this time he also introduced some biodynamic methods, proving to him that this was definitely the right method to work with. The late Philippe Moyne put his heart and soul into this project and Fabrice is keen to take the estate forward using a natural methods. - Importer Note
