Tasting Notes
One of the best value Cotes du Rhone wines in-store. Cotes du Rhone wines are well known for their affordability, but often that lower price tag comes at a cost in quality. Domaine de Seminaire from a unique and cooler part of the Rhone have managed to produce an affordable red wine that leaves all other wines in its class for dead. I seriously thought I was drinking good Chateauneuf du Pape! If there is ever a time to buy up on a great wine for a great price, it is now! Domaine de Seminaire Cotes du Rhone Rouge should be your first and last choice. - Chris L
Domaine du Séminaire is a certified organic agricultural estate located in Valréas, within the Southern Rhône region of France. The estate is a family operation managed by Hervé and Mathilde Pouizin, known for their dedication to sustainable farming and traditional practices.
The estate is situated at a high altitude in the "Enclave des Papes," where the climate, influenced by alpine air and Mistral winds, contributes to the characteristics of the grapes grown there. The Pouizins utilize traditional methods in their winemaking process, including the use of native yeasts and aging in concrete tanks, focusing on expressing the qualities of their clay and limestone soils.
