Tasting Notes
It's supposedly the leaner style of Chardonnay for the domaine, but it is anything but lean. Packed full of flavour and classic Margaret River Chardonnay richness. There's a lot of winemaking that goes into this wine that moves away from the classic peach characteristics of the variety and into the more secondary spectrum. Batonnage, new oak, malo-lactic fermentation and fine reduction. All balanced and harmonious. This is a style for those of you that like fullness and complexity in their Chardonnay. - Chris L
Cradled by the Indian and Great Southern Oceans, the Margaret River wine region enjoys a gentle maritime climate of cool wet winters and warm dry summers. Plentiful, pure water and idyllic Indian summers provide superb growing conditions for many grape varietals and is also superb for people.
Domaine Naturaliste Vineyard is located in the heart of the highly acclaimed Wilyabrup sub-region of Margaret River in Western Australia.
Our vines are 7 km inland from the magnificent Indian ocean. The gravelly loam soils provide a stable foundation for our 20 year old grapevines, allowing them to achieve balance. The maritime climate is characterised by cool wet winters, and long gentle summers, which makes our area a pristine environment for growing wine.
