Tasting Notes
This is classic Provencal Rose that has everything you would expect and is still nice and dry. It's a very pale almost copper pinkish colour so it's right in the zone colour wise but more importantly its layered nicely with fresh citrus oil, hints of stone fruit and notes of strawberry. Very easy drinking. - Pete L
Domaine Sainte Marie is a historic, family-owned winery located in the heart of the Côtes de Provence region in France, managed by the Duburcq family since 2007. The estate, which traces its roots to the 18th-century Monastère de la Verne, is particularly noted for its commitment to environmentally conscious winemaking, with all 40 hectares of vineyards fully certified as organic and biodynamic. The name of the domaine is inspired by a statue of the Virgin Mary, erected in 1884 after a cholera epidemic miraculously stopped at the edge of the property.
The estate's philosophy centers on minimal intervention and expressing the authentic Provençal terroir. The vineyards benefit from a hot, dry climate, cool nights, and sandy, permeable soils rich in schists and quartz. To preserve freshness, grapes are harvested manually during the cool early morning hours and transported to the cellar for minimal-sulfite winemaking in temperature-controlled stainless steel and concrete tanks. The wines produced—including red, white, and rosé bottlings—are vegan-certified and known for their elegance, freshness, and balance. Key grape varieties include Grenache, Cinsault, Syrah, and notably, the rare local variety Tibouren, which lends unique spicy and floral notes to their celebrated rosés, such as the popular Cuvée Paparazzi.
