Tasting Notes
Both the Pajana and Ciabot Mentin come off the ‘Ginestra’ Cru which sits at the south-western corner of the Monforte Commune. Along with Bussia and Mosconi, Ginestra is regarded as oen of the best Cru’s within the commune. The Pajana sub-cru sits at approx 350m and faces Est to Sth East and is one of the few vineyards to have a larger portioin of sand. This helps make it a little more approachable than its brother below, but still is a long, worthy cellar contender.
Lustrous mid ruby. Bright, red fruit with a certain roundness to it. Polished palate of red fruit and firm, but ripe tannins and a wonderful succulent finish with clinging tannins. Firm grip and endless fresh fruit. 17.5/20 (WS) - Jancis Robinson
