Deep fresh red raspberry fruit, wet slate, anise and faint cinnamon. Red liquorice, musk sticks, fresh tobacco and spice. Pure and voluminous fresh red raspberry fruited palate with mineral lines with a long, fine spicy red fruit finish. Brett Grocke is a 6th generation Barossan who believes in 'wines built from the dirt up'. This Magnolia Blanc (100% Semillon) is exactly that. The fruit comes off three organically-farmed sites planted on the granitic sands below Mengler's Hill in the Barossa. There is a beautiful and elegant extraction of apricot-like flavour from the skins of the Semillon which sits long on your palate. It also has a great line and freshness, which is reminiscent of oyster shells. It is delicious and one of the most interesting wines you'll have for the money.
