Tasting Notes
Block 3 is one of the great Pinot Noir sites of Central Otago, a tiny parcel within Felton Road’s organically and biodynamically farmed Elms Vineyard in Bannockburn. Planted in 1992 on deep, angular schist gravels, it consistently produces one of the most powerful and complete wines in the Felton Road range. There’s plenty of dark cherry and plum, florals, spice and that distinctive earthy, mineral character underneath. It’s concentrated and structured, but there’s beautiful freshness and incredibly fine tannins holding everything together. A serious Pinot Noir with real depth and a long future ahead of it. - Chris L
