Ready for more than just sweet fruit plus good value in your pinot? This Yarra pinot is a mix of sour cherry and some five spice hints on both nose and palate. The spice probably comes partly through use of oak barrels I guess. Savoury mouthfeel overall with initial elegant red fruits. Enjoyed with over roasted chicken with a little herb topping and veggies. Good drinking, good value, not just fruit. - Michael L
A marriage of Pinot Noir grown on one of the Yarra Valley's coolest sites with that of one of Yarra's warmest. The former brings the bright fruit and spice whereas the latter brings depth and fine tannin structure. The two wines were made with a gentle touch, using wild yeasts, 60% whole bunches and a long gentle soak on skins. Neither wine seemed complete until they were blended together shortly before bottling. Think Campari, dark cherries and charcuterie. Lovely drinking now but it is also one for the cellar where it will develop some really interesting earthy characters. - Winery Note
