Tasting Notes
This is a beautiful wine that has the complexity to keep the connoisseurs of Chardonnay captivated while still remaining an easy and approachable wine to drink in its youth. An array of crisp green fruit flavours, white peach, white pepper and a touch of toastiness are balanced in the bouquet. A perfect amount of acidity carries the juicy medium body of the wine. It's difficult to find a Macon Village that performs at this level at this price. - Aaron C.
Domaine Frantz Chagnoleau is a beautiful little estate run by the two winemakers, both with backgrounds in Oenology: Frantz Chagnoleau and his wife Caroline Gon, who was the former winemaker with Héritiers du Comte Lafon.
All of the vineyards have been certified organic since 2013. As with Lafon, these winemakers take a minimal intervention approach using only indigenous yeast as the best way to express the nuances of the unique unique terroir. Aging is done in primarily in large, used French oak and the grapes are harvested completely by hand on a plot-by-plot basis.
