Tasting Notes
Aux Combottes is a small premier cru lying just beneath Les Charmes, with thin limestone soils and a stony, free-draining profile that naturally delivers wines of lift and aromatic clarity. Barthod’s vines here are mature, producing fruit of concentration yet always with a refined, silken texture. The cuvée marries Chambolle’s trademark perfume—delicate florals and pure red fruit—with a mineral edge and a fine, tensile frame. It is one of the domaine’s most elegant premiers crus, graceful in youth but capable of rewarding cellaring. - Chris L
