Tasting Notes
Les Chatelots is a small premier cru situated mid-slope between Les Plantes and Les Feusselottes, with clay-limestone soils that are slightly deeper and cooler than those of Barthod’s other Chambolle sites. This terroir gives a wine of supple charm and perfume, often showing softer tannins and a rounder texture compared to the domaine’s more structured crus. From Barthod’s old vines, the cuvée highlights Chambolle’s delicate florals and mineral thread, but with an inviting generosity and accessibility that makes it particularly seductive even in its youth. - Chris L
