Tasting Notes
Elegant Australian sparkling at its best. After spending 5 years on lees this Sparkling, produced from fruit from Orange in NSW, has gained an elegance of mouthfeel and complexity like few ever see. This is special, and you don't have to pay Champagne prices for the enjoyment. Fresh and vibrant acidity is the backbone to this buttermilk, lime tart charater-driven sparkling with elements of brioche. Another bottle please! - Chris L
Gilbert Family Wines began its journey in 2004 by fifth generation winemaker Simon Gilbert. Simon has always had a strong desire to do things his own way and create a label true to himself, at the same time paying tribute to his heritage. The winery and cellar door is based in Mudgee (NSW), with grapess being sourced from Mudgee, Orange, Hilltops and Tumbarumba. Will Gilbert (Simon's son) is now at the helm and the wines have never looked better. Will has gained experience in Burgundy under Benjamin Leroux and you can see this influence in his Pinot Noir's and Chardonnay's, the wines he holds in highest regard. - Winery Note
