Tasting Notes
The Gilbert White Label Chardonnay is a elegant, medium-bodied style sourced from the high-altitude, cool-climate Orange region of New South Wales. The wine is aromatically complex - white jasmine, nectarine, and nougat, with underlying notes of white peach, lemon, flint, and a dash of struck match. The palate is medium bodied and elegant with refreshing high-altitude acidity and isn’t obstructed in anyway by winemaking artifact. A beauty! - Chris L
Gilbert Family Wines began its journey in 2004 by fifth generation winemaker Simon Gilbert. Simon has always had a strong desire to do things his own way and create a label true to himself, at the same time paying tribute to his heritage. The winery and cellar door is based in Mudgee (NSW), with grapess being sourced from Mudgee, Orange, Hilltops and Tumbarumba. Will Gilbert (Simon's son) is now at the helm and the wines have never looked better. Will has gained experience in Burgundy under Benjamin Leroux and you can see this influence in his Pinot Noir's and Chardonnay's, the wines he holds in highest regard. - Winery Note
