Tasting Notes
Gru is a classic take on the Gruner Veltliner wines produced in Austria. Light and dry in style with a fruit profile of citrus and tangerine among a delicate pepper-like spice. The palate is also light with plenty of freshing acidity that pairs well with seafood dishes and even some lighter Asian cuisine. - Chris L
A fruit-backed faithful expression of Gruner from Adelaide Hills. Great acidity and notes of white peach, lemon, chamomile and white pepper. Would be fantastic with all kinds of foods from seafood to spicy Asian. - Aaron C.
Hahndorf Hill is a cool-site Adelaide Hills winery founded by Larry Jacobs. The estate specialises in varieties that thrive in the Hills’ elevation and long, slow ripening, most notably Grüner Veltliner and Blaufränkisch, alongside Chardonnay, Riesling, Pinot Grigio and Sauvignon Blanc. The soils lean on sandstone-rich loam and clay over fractured rock, harvested by hand, cool fermented and handled with modest oak only where required, preserving aromatic lift, freshness and moderate alcohol elegance.
