Tasting Notes
Henri Boillot’s Volnay 1er Cru Les Caillerets comes from one of the village’s most esteemed sites, a mid-slope vineyard with thin, stony limestone soils that give the wine its hallmark finesse and minerality. It shows lifted aromas of red cherry, raspberry, violets and subtle spice, while the palate is finely etched—silky fruit carried on a line of bright acidity and delicate tannins, finishing with precision and length. Elegant and pure, it captures both the grace of Volnay and the distinctive stony imprint of Les Caillerets, drinking beautifully now yet with clear ageing potential. - Chris L
Domaine Henri Boillot is a distinguished family estate in Burgundy’s Côte de Beaune, with roots reaching back to the early 1900s. Based in Meursault, the domaine was reunified under Henri Boillot’s stewardship in 2005, bringing together family-held parcels under his vision—today he concentrates on crafting pristine white Burgundies, while his son Guillaume, who joined the domaine in the late 2000s, leads the development of the reds.
The estate cultivates carefully selected vineyard parcels with remarkable terroir: premier crus in Meursault and Puligny-Montrachet (including the monopole Clos de la Mouchère), as well as holdings in Volnay and Pommard. With a naturally restrained production scale, the domaine focuses on precision, terroir clarity, and elegant expression in its Chardonnays and Pinot Noirs.
Henri’s whites are celebrated for their crystalline purity, mineral tension and layered complexity, while Guillaume’s reds are noted for their finesse, perfume, and refined structure—together presenting a harmonious vision of Côte de Beaune terroir, crafted with generational knowledge and thoughtful precision.
