Henri Chauvet is a young and dynamic producer working in the volcanic hills of the Auvergne, part of France’s central Massif. After training with some of France’s leading natural winemakers, Chauvet established his own domaine in 2019, farming small parcels of Gamay d’Auvergne, Pinot Noir and Chardonnay on volcanic basalt and granite soils. These unique terroirs, combined with the region’s cool climate and high elevations, yield wines of freshness, minerality and aromatic lift.
Viticulture is organic and low-intervention, with a deep respect for biodiversity and soil health. In the cellar, Chauvet works naturally—harvesting by hand, fermenting with indigenous yeasts, and bottling without fining or filtration, often with little or no added sulphur. The wines are lively, textural and vibrant, showing both the purity of fruit and the wild, untamed character of the Auvergne.
Henri Chauvet has quickly become one of the region’s rising stars, part of the new generation putting the Auvergne firmly on the map for soulful, terroir-driven natural wines.
