Tasting Notes
A serious Savagnin in the Loire style - except it's from Margaret River. Smell and taste have this intriguing mix of fruit with both sweetness yet limey citrus; like cumquart maybe. It's a please-have-with-food wine. Fish with natural oils (eg trout or salmon) or a seafood casserole for me. Barrel ferment, typical acidity and lighter 12.8% alc. Value. - Michael L
100% barrel fermented Savagnin, our Heretic White is sourced from Phil and Lyn Foster's vineyard on Thornton Road. Phil and Lyn have been farming in Margaret River for decades and grow a range of 'alternative' varieties on their property. We love the Savagnin for it's aromatics of dried herbs and sea spray, it's texture and beautiful natural acid. - Winery Note
