Tasting Notes
Quite incredible really... This Champagne has history to it like nothing I've ever seen. Hure Freres run a solera system (like sherry producers) that dates back to 1982 and gets used to make a proportion of this Champagne. Expect developed and nutty complexities throughout as well as richness and density. Made of 10% Chardonnay, 45% Pinot noir and 45% Pinot meunier. Unique. - Chris L
Since 2008, François Huré has been at the head of the estate after pursuing many other opportunities and inspiring wine regions as a young man. His prior stints include: falling in love with the terroir of Burgundy while obtaining his enology degree in Dijon, becoming fascinated with biodynamics while working with Jean Pïerre Fleury, and exploring the vineyards of Australia and New Zealand. These experiences allowed François to understand the inherent advantages of both New and Old World wine regions: the traditional farming and respect for terroir of the former and the acute attention to detail of the latter. Both serve him to create the terroir-driven and focused cuvées that mark the Huré Frères style today. This is exceptional quality of growers Champagne located in Ludes from premier cru village of the Montagne de Reims. - Importer Note
