Tasting Notes
Coteaux Champenois is the still wine of Champagne, made in tiny amounts and hardly ever seen outside the region. This is Pinot Noir off outcropping chalk at Montgueux, which is where the structure and that constant mineral freshness come from. Natural ferments and careful ageing, with nothing done to get in the way of the fruit. Refined and finely drawn with delicate tannin and a finish that genuinely tastes of chalk. A quiet, serious red. - Pete L
