Tasting Notes
This is made mostly from Chatelots with a touch of Feusselottes. Fresh mid purple, the nose is not leaping out at first. Excellent intensity behind, a firmer style of Chambolle as Chatelots dominates. Good length and enough acidity to balance. 91-94. - Jasper Morris
Sophie Confuron and husband Alain Meunier assumed control of this wonderful Domaine from Sophie’s father, Jean-Jacques Confuron in 1988. Belonging to the new generation of Burgundian’s their philosophy is ‘biologique’ and their vineyards are ploughed by horse. J-J Confuron have a chorus line of magnificent vineyards that date from the 1920s culminating in the majestic Romanee-St-Vivant. In recent years their son Louis joined the business adding another exciting dynamic. Though organic for 30 years, Louis approach in the cellar is softer handling of the fruit, stem inclusion and a power sulphur regime.
