Tasting Notes

Xarello from Penedes in Catalonia made by a former winemaker from Recaredo, my favourite Spanish sparkling wine producer. This Xarello spend a short time on skins and then rests in old oak and tank for a year and transforms into this exotic orange wine with layers of ripe and dried stone fruits, hints of earl grey guided by silky tannins. A wine where the skin contact doesn't dictate the style or direction but builds depth and intrigue to an already interesting variety. - Pete L
