Tasting Notes
Hailing from the Broke Fordwich sub-region of the Hunter Valley, Krinklewood are pioneers of organic and biodynamic vineyard practices, resulting in some truly beautiful wines. The Francesca Rose is made from 100% Mourvedre and has a lovely pale pink hue to it. The nose shows freshly cut strawberries, rose petals, and a little hint of citrus. Juicy, red berries lead the palate, with a wonderful, creamy mouthfeel balanced by a fine and bracing acidity that ends with a nice crisp finish. An elegant, dry Rose, perfect with a platter of fresh seafood, for the long, lazy summer afternoons. Enjoy! - Felix G
We planted our first vines on our first Hunter Valley property in 1981. In 1997 we moved to a picturesque property in Broke Fordwich and planted a much larger 48 acre vineyard. We completed courses in wine processing and viticulture at Kurri Kurri Tafe and later attended a Rudolph Steiner Agriculture course. This course was hugely influential and impacted immediately on our overall approach to viticulture and farming. By early 2002, we were fully committed to Biodynamics and commenced to manage our farm organically and biodynamically. Krinklewood Vineyard became fully certified biodynamic by 2007.
Krinklewood is a boutique Hunter Valley winery and vineyard in which every member of the family contributes significantly. We, together with our great team of vineyard and cellar door staff, are all committed and 'hands on' in the daily biodynamic operations of the vineyard and farm and delight in the fact that 'what you put in is what you get back'. - Winery Note
