Tasting Notes
Wow...this is deeply impressive. This is from a single, very steep vineyard and this fruit was fermented as whole bunches for a week (though drinks as a white wine) before being pressed to barrel. This is mineral and long - the primary phenolics have dropped out of this cuvee a little more than in Le Vieux Saltimbanque thanks to the time in barrel and the final wine has a distinct steeliness. It's this dry wine, perhaps more than any young wine I've ever tasted from Banyuls, that really showcases the nature of this soil. This is spectacular white wine, bordering on crisp and very precise. It's also an absolute study in terroir. I really can't recommend it highly enough. - Importer Note
