Tasting Notes
A Pinot for those who look for difference, but still in a quality wine. Natural style with minimal preservatives (SO2); and please give it a long decant and shake to release the protective CO2 and related spritz. I drank it on night 2. By then both nose and palate calmed to show sour cherry or raspberry fruits and complexing root vegetable (which I particularly loved in their Latta Sangiovese). Not a pinot for everyone, but I enjoyed that bitter-to-sweet taste. 13%alc. A quality pinot with a difference. - Michael L
Owen Latta was raised on the land around Ballarat. His folks, owners of the vineyard/winery Eastern Peak, have laid the groundwork for who is now making some of the most progressive wines in the country under his own label - Latta. They're exciting, thought-provoking and loveable wines from Ballarat, Pyrenees and Grampians in Victoria. He has a natural approach in the cellar and is sourcing organically farmed fruit where possible. You have to try these wines, any of them, they're fantastic! - Chris L
