Tasting Notes
Every year we look forward to Owen's What-A-Melon release. As always, it's a real mix of varieties resulting in a wine that's beautifully pale rose gold in colour, with light citrus peel notes, pink lady apple, flashes of rosewater, and the classic watermelon characteristics that give the wines its name. The palate is delicate and light, yet displaying a vibrancy and concentration that shows a winemaker at the top of his game. It's absolutely delicious and a joy to drink... - Felix G
Owen Latta was raised on the land around Ballarat. His folks, owners of the vineyard/winery Eastern Peak, have laid the groundwork for who is now making some of the most progressive wines in the country under his own label - Latta. They're exciting, thought-provoking and loveable wines from Ballarat, Pyrenees and Grampians in Victoria. He has a natural approach in the cellar and is sourcing organically farmed fruit where possible. You have to try these wines, any of them, they're fantastic! - Chris L
