Tasting Notes
Old vines of Grolleau macerated for 14 days and aged for 6 months in large format wood. Bottled in the spring with no adds. Uplifting, fresh, fun and savoury - an intriguing red from the Loire. Smell florals of the savoury type, like leaf, spice and root vegetable hints. The taste is fine boned, elegant, raspberry fruit, savoury leaf and maybe even tomato hints. 11% alc. Clean, good acidity and soft chalk tannins. Food - gamey. We enjoyed it with lamb backstraps and pepper sprinkled quince paste - and after food too. - Michael L
