Tasting Notes
A feel good minimal intervention style pinot. Raspberry like fruits and herb hints at opening; but on night 2 the hints were of sweeter spice. Fine body of raspberry fruit with acid support, fresh, 12.5% alc, minimal everything. Feel well tomorrow! Still powerful enough to enhanced our Moroccan Chicken meal. - Michael L
Husband and wife, Maddy (LEhmann) and Damon (KOerner) created Leko to produce wines that share unique expressions of the Adelaide Hills. Their common love for Chardonnay and lighter style reds led them from their home turfs of the Barossa and Clare Valley, to establish a new home in the central Adelaide Hills' village of Lenswood. Both born and bred into the wine industry, Damon grew up on his family's vineyard in the Clare Valley; while Maddy spent her younger years in the Barossa. Maddy went on to pursue a career in Advertising and Marketing, whereas Damon stayed within the industry and studied Viticulture and Oenology. Having worked the vineyards of the Adelaide Hills for over 15 years, Damon developed a passion for the region and the desire to start experimenting with top-quality fruit from particular sites he had come to know over the years ‚– so Leko was born. Ultimately Maddy and Damon would like to buy one of these sites, or perhaps plant their own vineyard. Leko works hand-in-hand with Koerner, using the same winemaking philosophies and techniques while showcasing a different region. - Distributor Note
