Tasting Notes
The iconic Maga family wine. Barbacarlo is a blend of Croatina, Uva Rara and Ughetta, which is also known as Vespolina from vines up to 100 years of age.
Hand-harvested. Gently pressed and fermented on indigenous yeasts in ancient 3000L oak casks. 7 to 8 days maceration. Ageing: 8 months in ancient 3000L oak casks with periodic racking during the old moon. Bottled in the Spring (April / May) following the vintage with fermentation often finishing here. Bottles are stored horizontal for 40 days and then stored vertical for four months before being available for sale. Bottles should be stored vertical. - Importer Note
