Tasting Notes
From organically farmed vines planted in 2003, set on clay-limestone soils at 350 meters above sea level in Alcamo. Trained to spalliera (trellis) with Guyot pruning, yielding around 80 quintals per hectare. Macerated on the skin for about 7 days. Fermented in stainless steel, followed by full malolactic fermentation. Aged on fine lees in stainless steel for 8 months (Nero d’Avola for few months in chestnut tonneaux). Bottled unfiltered with minimal sulfites (15 mg/L). A bright and approachable Sicilian red. Ripe cherry and blackberry fruit lifted by hints of Mediterranean herbs and subtle spice. Smooth and medium-bodied on the palate, with gentle tannins, fresh acidity, and a lingering mineral finish that reflects its clay-limestone roots. - Importer Note.
