Maxime Crotet is the Chef de Cave for Frederic Cossard, one of the kings of natural wine in Burgundy. Maxime has set out on his own and is now producing wines under his own label. Due to a poor vintage in 2021 Maxime had to source fruit from regions outside of Burgundy. This is a straight Syrah from Ventoux and Vaucluse made in a very hands off fashion like his mentor. This is a deep and concentrated expression of Syrah, layered with spice, liquorice and red fruits. It is certainly the most powerful wine from this release. - Pete L
