Quality Shiraz from Heathcote showing the areas best side - blue savoury fruits. And it comes without a big alcohol hit (12% alc). Decant to let most of the earth hints blow off; then enjoy the mouth-filling mid-weight fruits. Subtle, yet mouth-coating tannins. Interesting! - Michael L
Syrah but not as you know it! Lighter, fresher and includes more Nosiola than your normal Syrah ever would… 5% to be exact. Once again sourced from the Chalmers vineyard in Heathcote including the Nosiola which is only 3 rows of the vineyard. This addition really lifts the Syrah up further and helps to bring the wine together. Expect lots of red and blue fruit, bright acidity from the Nosiola component. In the winery the utmost care and consideration is taken to treat everything as gently as possible. This means only working with actual small batch amounts of wine, Really small! There are no pumps used on the wines. All movement of wine is done by gravity. There is no filtration or fining and no use of additions, including no s02 anytime during the process. Elevage is all in stainless steel unless otherwise noted and all bottling is done by hand using gravity. I believe these practices to be the only way for me to make wines with soul and character while still being clean, pure, vibrant and structured without the use of S02. - Winery Note
