Tasting Notes
This Tuscany IGT (with Bordeaux varieties) is made by a leading Tuscan producer. The grapes are grown organically and it is not filtered so much. No stems used in the making, no fining and lowish sulphur added. Lowish 13% alc. What then to expect? Thinking soft? No, the wine is powerful. Dusty black and dark cherry fruits, oak related spice and dark chocolate, leather. Palate (especially by night 2) was showing quality dark cherry fruit, followed by bitey tannins and acidity. For those who like powerful oak-supported reds; do a long decant before drinking; or wait another 5+ years for the fruit to shine. - Michael L
