Tasting Notes
Around 30% is fermented as whole bunches and it's raised in seasoned French oak, keeping everything fragrant and fresh rather than heavy. It's lifted and youthful, full of blackcurrant, plum and raspberry with a lovely floral note, a bit of savoury olive tapenade and a dusting of spice. The palate is bright with red fruit, sweet cedar, cinnamon and allspice, finishing long on firm, enticing tannins. Beautiful on every level. - Pete L
Janet and Erinn Klein started Ngeringa in the Adelaide Hills with one aim - to produce the greatest wine possible without compromising their ethics and values. The land was originally part of the famous biodynamic Jurlique herb farm and has been farmed this way for 40 years. Today, it is home to close-planted vines and roaming Scottish Highland cows, sheep, chickens, a heritage orchard and extensive native revegetation which help promote a thriving ecosystem. They work the vines with the rhythms of the seasons and take no shortcuts in the winemaking to produce wines with energy and vitality that are true reflections of the land and vintage that they came from.
