Tasting Notes
There's a real sense of place in this one, grown high up at 650 metres on ancient decomposed granite and made about as thoughtfully as it gets, fermented and matured entirely in sandstone amphora. It's pale garnet with lovely bright red hues, all red berries, sour cherry and plum on the nose. The palate is light on its feet but seriously savoury and complex, the kind of wine that keeps you thinking. A characterful, textural drop from a producer with one eye on tradition and the other firmly on the future. - Pete L
