Tasting Notes
The Skin Contact White is crafted from Sauvignon Blanc grown at the Baxendale Vineyard, an elevated site at 620 metres above Whitfield that delivers remarkable purity and natural acidity thanks to its long, cool season. Left on skins for around 136 days, the fruit was pristine and handled with a pared-back approach in the cellar. Pale blonde in colour, the wine opens with subtle floral notes and a touch of wet stone. The palate is concentrated yet balanced, with the skin contact contributing texture and length. - Aaron C
We started Nomads Garden because we believe that low intervention, natural wine methods can be used to produce a quality wine, at price that doesn’t break the bank. We’re passionate about sharing a good bottle of wine with friends, over a good meal.
We are even more passionate about showcasing the incredible growers of our region - from the warm flats of Rutherglen to the cooler climes of Whitfield in the King Valley. There’s so much diversity in our region, resulting in some really interesting wines.
Nomads Garden is a family run operation, headed up by husband and wife team Ben and Ellie Schulz Dahlenburg. With Ben making the wine, Ellie is in charge of operations, wholesale, and distribution. Ellie and Ben both grew up in winemaking families - so are excited to share their own wine offering with the world.
