Tasting Notes
Wow, this red blend was a beautiful surprise, powered by red fruits, spice & herbs and deed chalky tannins. Made up of Gamay from Loire (60%), Grenache from Mont Ventoux in Southern Rhone (20%) and Trousseau from Jura (10%). After an important short decant, I was hit by an unexpected pure aroma of sweet cherry (I thought of Kirsch) and savoury spice and herb hints. All these elements followed through in the taste, growing in depth and complexity as we drank, thanks to the deep integrated chalky tannins. And this power was not driven by alcohol (friendly 12% alc.). Especially went with charcuterie or good old beef sausages on the barbie! Michael L.
