Tasting Notes
The Clos Lojen comes from another warm, dry vintage with lower yields and very healthy fruit, fermented whole-bunch with native yeasts in well-seasoned 4,500L open-top oak vats and aged for 6 months across a combination of 4,500, 10,000 and 15,000L oak. Picking each plot at the right moment has tightened the cuvée up further nowadays.
More serious than the usual juicy young red, fruit-driven and primary on the front but with real complexity underneath, medium-bodied with very fine tannins. This drinks great now with food but will improve with a little sleep in the cellar. It had me wondering if I was drinking Cru Beaujolais... - Aaron C
