Tasting Notes
Praeter's Savagnin from the Magpie Block spends 18 months under veil, never topped up or fussed with, with two flor strains Matt has picked out from time spent working with the style. Almond kernel, fennel frond and crushed cumin on the nose lead into a palate that races along on mouthwatering acidity, lemon pith, sunflower miso and roasted macadamia. Rich, nutty, oxidative and textural, with layers of bruised orchard fruit from the flor. A seriously smart Jura style wine from the Southern Fleurieu. - Pete L
