Tasting Notes
One of the all time great Co-op wines in the world. It's not often wines from the local co-operative in any country around the world produce great wines, but Produttori del Barbaresco is the exception. Sourced from 51 different growers from around the region, the DOCG Barbaresco is such a reliably good wine regardless of vintage. It's made in the traditional style where one sees little new oak but instead the influence of large format botti, and the wines are more focused around savouriness and perfume, and a fine boned tannin structure. These wines age well for 10+ years. - Chris L
50 families,100 hectares, the Produttori del Barbaresco in my opinion is the best co-operative winery in the world. The style is traditional and unadulterated. The general Barbaresco is a blend of all the vineyards from all the families to make up one hell of a blend. The single vineyard sites are extraordinary expressions of the best Cru's in the region, all produced in the same way yet they show the individual parcels of fruit very differently. True terroir. - Chris L
