Tasting Notes
This small batch wine is not like some fruit-forward pinots I have tried from Coal River area of Tassie. Instead it opened with elegant sour cherry with hints of stalk & spices (cloves and pepper maybe); turning increasingly to red cherry with a savoury feel. Good acidity with a glimpse of tannin, and restrained alcohol (12.7%). The Pinot style I like! - Michael L
Pinot Noir from the Antipodes site in the Coal River valley. All the clones were picked over several days and fermented together (100% whole bunch) in an open-top fermenter for two weeks and pressed before dry to finish the ferment in old French oak and rest for a year. - Winery Note
