Tasting Notes
Year in year out Rippon Gewurztraminer is a cracker! It's more restrained than most other examples including those from it's homeland in Alsace, France. Classic tropical characteristics of lychee with hints of musk, spice and white flowers. The palate is poised and elegant, and is definitely not flat and flabby like so many others. So much life in a very underated wine. I highly recommend this wine throughout summer accompanying shell fish, or better yet some of those typical thai dishes. - Chris L
The farm voice of a distinct parcel of land: Rippon. On the western board of Roy's Bay, Lake Wanaka, Rippon's north-facing escarpment forms the meeting point of terminal moraines and coarse gravels, all based in schist, on which some of the region's earliest vines were planted. Rippon is a wine issued from all of the fully developed Pinot Noir vines growing in this land. - Winery Note
