Ross Hill is a family-owned winery in Orange, New South Wales, founded in 1994 by Peter and Terri Robson, now led by the next generation including James and Chrissy. Their vineyards stretch across multiple sites, most notably Griffin Road (750-850 metres elevation) and Wallace Lane (one of Australia’s highest planted cool-climate vineyards, over 1,000 metres), with soils that include basalt and volcanic origins, giving wines crisp structure and elevated freshness. Ross Hill was the first Australian winery certified carbon neutral under Climate Active, and sustainability sits at the heart of their farming and winemaking. They specialise in cool-climate varietals and styles—Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Noir, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Shiraz—producing wines of precision, vibrant character and elegant refinement.

Tasting Notes
There's something very aristocratic about our premium Shiraz. Opaque and brooding when poured, with classic Hermitage aromas of white pepper, graphite, dried herbs and plums ‚– fragrant and refined. It's medium weight, but lacks nothing as it is amazingly balanced and integrated for a wine of its age. Oak is present, athough it's happy to play a supporting role. The core of this wine is built around intense fruit from low-yielding vines from a vintage of great quality. It will outlive most Australian Shiraz from traditional warmer regions, and is far more food friendly. - Winery Note
