Tasting Notes
The Little Wine from Fraser McKinley of Sami-Odi is sourced from the Hoffmann Dallwitz Vineyard in the Ebenezer district of the northern Barossa Valley. This renowned site, farmed by sixth-generation grower Adrian Hoffmann, is rooted in red and brown soils over deep red clay. The Little Wine is a multi-vintage blend of Shiraz that is fragrant and elegant, yet doesn’t lack concentration. A cult wine and a rarity. - Chris L
Fraser Kinley is the man behind Sami-Odi wines. In 2003 he left his home in Auckland, New Zealand and headed to the Barossa where he spent time working at Torbreck and Standish Wine Company. In 2006 he made the move to Barossa and set up a small winery "Sami Odi". His wines are made from carefully selected plots of vines coming from some of the finest vineyards in the valley. All the plots are vinified separately and blended later on to create a wine that is greater than the sum of its parts.
