Tasting Notes
Sauvignon blanc from a 3ha parcel in Verdigny. The vines are 30 years old on average, grown on clay and limestone. 30% botryitis. Aged in old barrels for 36 months. Zero SO2 added. This is one of my favourites and offers exceptional value for money. Very clean nose that is fresh and not too oxidative. Sea breeze, sultanas and marmalade. Fresh on impact, then tweaks a bit. High acidity that integrates with air. Ginger quite prominent, with lemons, grapefruit, mandarins - lots of citrus! Detailed herbaceous notes too, and a light spicy finish. Long, complex, and nicely weighted texture. A great introduction into these wines. - Ryan Larkin
