Tasting Notes
Deep rich red (great colour for Neb). On the nose spicy plum and dried meat aromas with a lick of garrigues. On the palate lovely rich intense confuit cherry fruit with abundant ripe round tannins and lovely balancing acidity. A classic in the making! One for the cellar!!! - Distributor Note
Chris Catlow founded Sentio in 2013 after stints working alongside some of Beechworth’s most respected names. A native of the region, Chris takes a thoughtful, almost architectural approach to winemaking, seeking precision and purity across his range. The vineyards he works with sit high in the hills of Beechworth and nearby King Valley, providing cool nights and long ripening seasons that deliver exceptional balance.
Sentio wines are marked by their clarity and restraint – Chardonnay, Nebbiolo and Pinot Noir lead the way, showing fine detail and mineral drive, while Syrah, Gamay and other small-batch releases highlight the depth and diversity of the regions. Chris’ focus is always on letting site and season speak, with sensitive handling in the cellar, wild ferments, and minimal new oak. These are modern, finely tuned Beechworth wines that capture both elegance and vitality.
