Tasting Notes
Drawn from the cool, red-soiled slopes of Captains Creek in Blampied, expect a sense of balance. Subtle scents of citrus peel, white peach and almond lead into a palate that feels both bright and textural, shaped by time on lees rather than oak. There’s an easy flow between fruit and structure, the wine finishing long and pure with a savoury twist that speaks more of place than process. - Aaron C
Chris Catlow founded Sentio in 2013 after stints working alongside some of Beechworth’s most respected names. A native of the region, Chris takes a thoughtful, almost architectural approach to winemaking, seeking precision and purity across his range. The vineyards he works with sit high in the hills of Beechworth and nearby King Valley, providing cool nights and long ripening seasons that deliver exceptional balance.
Sentio wines are marked by their clarity and restraint – Chardonnay, Nebbiolo and Pinot Noir lead the way, showing fine detail and mineral drive, while Syrah, Gamay and other small-batch releases highlight the depth and diversity of the regions. Chris’ focus is always on letting site and season speak, with sensitive handling in the cellar, wild ferments, and minimal new oak. These are modern, finely tuned Beechworth wines that capture both elegance and vitality.
