From a single lieu-dit with clay-limestone soils, En Clémangeots offers dark cherry, blackberry and plum, layered with violet, spice and subtle graphite. The palate is deeper and more muscular than the village wine, with firm tannins and savoury mineral depth driving the long finish. A site-expressive Pinot with intensity and ageing potential. - Chris L
“Noticeably darker and deeper in colour. This is very concentrated in its dark fruit way, 50% whole bunch vinification, which adds a lightly herbaceous touch which freshens up the mid palate. Generous through the middle and very persistent. Drink from 2027-2032.” 90-92 points, Jasper Morris MW, Inside Burgundy
Less is more! Minimal intervention or Lo-fi wines encapsulate those producers who keep additions and manipulations to a minimum during the winemaking process. This means the wines are wild fermented, unfiltered and unfined, and only add sulfur during the process.
