Tasting Notes
The essence of this wine is that it can be enjoyed as an every day quaffer! No need to age this wine (but will easily last 5+ years) it can be enjoyed on it's own or enjoyed with a home cooked roast, slow braise, a bowl of pasta, pizza or at a casual bbq.
Deep dark crimson in colour with bright red hue. Intense perfume of lifted wild raspberries, black olives, soy and turned earth. Think red liquorice and crushed black cherries. The palate shows the best of Heathcote. Savoury dried herbs and spice, graphite and tapenade again, with very fine tannin coming from the 75% whole bunches during ferment, balanced red fruits leading though a long savoury finish. Showing more finesse as the vines age, the Demi is about weight and elegance meeting fruit and tannin. The natural acidity keeps the wine fresh and alive. Distributor Notes.
Less is more! Minimal intervention or Lo-fi wines encapsulate those producers who keep additions and manipulations to a minimum during the winemaking process. This means the wines are wild fermented, unfiltered and unfined, and only add sulfur during the process.
