Tasting Notes
Wonderful savoury, earthy notes combine with red currents and wild strawberries. Star anise and herbal aromas in the background.
Light bodied with juicy fruits and super soft tannins. Don't be fooled by the upfront fruit, there is a serious mid palate that soon kicks in. The tannins are so supple that this wine can be enjoyed well chilled on a hot day with no real impact on the structure of the wine. Enjoy! - Winery Note
Thick as Thieves is a one-man, Yarra based operation and that one-man is a guy named Syd.
After 10 years in winemaking, working for some of the Yarra's top producers during that time, Syd's oenological clock started ticking and he decided the time was right to make his own babies.
Not having to answer to bean counters and marketing departments, Thick as Thieves has the freedom to experiment with alternative varieties and styles which means Syd gets to make interesting wines that he loves to drink, not wines that simply sell or are in vogue.
We could list the university qualifications, international travel history and the resume but really , who cares ??!! Thick as Thieves is about the wine in the bottle.
