Tasting Notes
Most gin starts from a neutral wheat or barley base, so Soma building theirs on corn is a real point of difference, bringing a delicate sweetness that carries everything else. The botanicals are vapour infused through a 3.5 metre copper tower made in Germany back in the early eighties, so nothing gets boiled and the aromatics stay gentle. Juniper, cardamom, chamomile, coriander seed and grains of paradise among them. The first serious gin out of Georgia, lovely with tonic and better still in a vermouth based cocktail. - Pete L
